Gamuda Australia and its partner were awarded the multi-billion Western Tunnelling Package(WTP) of the Sydney Metro West Project to deliver the twin 9km tunnels that form part of an underground railway connecting Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.

CHALLENGES
Gamuda needed a single source of truth to ensure credibility and provide real-time visibility of all project information, including construction drawings and project field data such as RFI, NCR and Hold Points.
The traditional document management approach relied on paper forms and manual processes, which meant the project team had to extract, sort out and analyse the raw data themselves. This made the team more prone to human error and the reporting process was significantly slowed down.
The project teams were based in multiple locations where review and approval processes could be impacted due to paper form circulation. This undermined the team’s efficiency and ultimately led to delays in project schedules. Gamuda recognised that they needed a more efficient and streamlined
approach to manage their projects, and a centralised digital platform was the solution.
