Enhancing Workflow Efficiencies and Information Accuracy: Scenario Implemented for the NeuRizer Urea Fertilizer Project
CUSTOMER
NeuRizer is a world leader in the development of responsible processes for food production. As a producer of urea fertiliser, they are the first of its kind in Australia to be carbon neutral, supporting crop production globally.
THE PROJECT
As a Greenfield project, NeuRizer wanted to ensure, right from the start, that they had ownership and oversight of all project information. This was vital to establish prior to engaging with their main contractor, to ensure parties are informed and accountable, and that decisions are made with the most accurate information.
As project owner, they needed to establish an auditable trail of all information and communication through all project phases, from feasibility study through to handover and completion. Effective collaboration between all internal and external parties was vital as their main contractor is based overseas and a substantial amount of work would be performed remotely. This further enforced the need for traceability in a system to establish an understanding of what decisions were made, when, and why.
There is a high volume of project document markups generated daily, and NeuRizer needed to digitise their workflows to process transmittals and respond to all parties within tight timeframes.

THE SOLUTION
NeuRizer chose Scenario’s Project Management Information System for their Greenfield project as it was the best choice to support a complex, multi-faceted mega-project.
Scenario met the flexibility that NeuRizer required in critical areas such as meta-data configuration, digital reviews, and quality processes. Moreover, Scenario enables users to access the system at a remote site, 500km north of Adelaide, through mobile and tablet applications. Such access was crucial with the main contractor based overseas, ensuring accurate visibility of a complex project while working remotely.
The Construction Quality Manager at NeuRizer, stated that “the Scenario team was professional and listened to us to understand our needs in detail”.
THE RESULTS
With Scenario implemented and fully utilised for the NeuRizer Urea Fertilizer Project, the client has seen a gain in workflow efficiencies and confidence in information accuracy. Since the commencement of the project, NeuRizer has processed hundreds of thousands of document reviews and 10,000 formal correspondences – more than 30,000 digital markups in the first month of the feasibility study alone.
The Document Controller at NeuRizer, details further the time saved in the revision of documents; “Scenario brings us the possibility to involve multiple concurrent reviewers in the process before consolidating a response. In the case of PDF files, it’s a great time saver to be able to add comments and amendments from the system, without having to download the document and working on it offline.”
Another key benefit of Scenario has been the ability to have daily oversight of project activity and status. As the system was able to support the complexities of the project, it enabled processes to be standardised across teams, “By keeping all the document records in the system, it is easier to track every document, ensure they are coming according to schedule, comments were addressed, and information was sent to the right party.”, states NeuRizer’s Document Controller.
Scenario’s features such as Custom Dashboards and Notifications, has considerably reduced the number of overdue days previously recorded when supplying NeuRizer documentation to external parties. The team have been able to improve oversight of what documents are late, what is held up internally or by consultants, and how the project team review process is progressing overall.
